A man from Ava was injured when he was hit by a car on Monday in Goodhope. The Highway Patrol says the 28 year old man from Bruner placed a cell phone in the passenger seat and swerved to avoid a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. The 65 year old Ava man who was walking was hit by the side mirror of the vehicle. He was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The accident happened on Highway T at Goodhope.
