
On July 11, 2025, at approximately 6:11 PM, Howell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a potentially dangerous situation involving an armed and intoxicated suspect threatening family members at a residence on County Road 8240 in West Plains, Missouri.
Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Marilynn Kay Silva. Silva was visibly intoxicated and admitted to recent methamphetamine use. Upon further investigation, deputies determined that Silva had threatened her father and other individuals at the scene with a double-barrel shotgun, which she had obtained from a family member under duress.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Marilynn Silva had been chasing her father while armed and had pointed the firearm at him and others while making threats to shoot.
Marilynn Kay Silva was arrested and was charged with felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon. She was released on $25,000.00 Bond.
