34-year-old Shawn Higginbotham was arrested last December after he allegedly held a woman against her will and severely beat and raped her. He was charged with four counts of rape, two counts of domestic battery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. He was also given a habitual offender enhancement for four previous felony convictions, including battery and theft of property.
