The Howell County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a man from Mountain View on felony warrants.

On Saturday morning, at approximately 3:30, deputies responded to a residence in the Mountain View area in an effort to locate Billy Fisher. Fisher was the respondent in an active protection order and was prohibited from being at or near the residence or its occupants. He also had multiple active felony warrants for violating the protection order and failing to appear on related charges. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the residents, who stated that Fisher was likely hiding in the garage located in the backyard. The residents further advised that Fisher would often sneak onto the property and confirmed that the deputies had full permission to remove him from the premises.

While clearing the garage, deputies located a room with an exterior padlock that was open, but with a doorknob locked from the inside, strongly suggesting someone was inside. Multiple loud verbal commands were issued, but no response was received.

Cpl. Gordon then deployed K9 “Flash” to search the garage. K9 Flash alerted to the presence of human scent at the locked door. After repeated commands with no response, the deputies forced entry into the room. Fisher was immediately observed lying on the floor just inside the doorway.

Cpl. Gordon issued commands for Fisher to comply or risk apprehension by the K9. Fisher chose to comply and was taken into custody without further incident.

Fisher was transported to the Howell County Jail and booked on his outstanding felony warrants.
