The Missouri State Highway Patrol Reported Three Vehicular Accidents

Three young men from West Plains were injured in a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon east of town. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on August 1 along County Road 8970, three miles east of West Plains. A 17-year-old male was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota southbound when the vehicle lost control, ran off the right side of the road, and overturned. The driver, along with two other passengers—another 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male—suffered minor injuries. All were transported to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains by private vehicle.

A man from Ellsinore was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash east of Honeysuckle Lane in Ripley County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:30 a.m. on August 1 along County Road 160E-12. A 2018 Mack truck driven by a 31-year-old man from Dexter was heading east when it turned into the path of a westbound 1997 Dodge truck driven by a 34-year-old Ellsinore man. The Ellsinore driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene.

An Ava man suffered minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Douglas County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old male was driving a 2003 GMC Yukon southbound on Highway AK, about nine miles northwest of Ava, around 8:00 p.m. on July 31, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road. The SUV crossed back over the centerline, traveled counterclockwise, and then went off the left side of the road before overturning. The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported by private vehicle to an unknown medical facility. The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.
