The City of Thayer and the Oregon County Commission hosted a town hall meeting last night at Thayer High School. The meeting lasted approximately two hours, and several topics were discussed. It began with Thayer Mayor Donna Martin updating everyone on the new things in the city. She talked about the strip mall being built by Elton Botard that will have a restaurant and other businesses in it. She talked about a building next to Ram parts that has been updated and will host Hot Yoga, the New Hardwoods Building, and its progress next to the old River Country Building, Winston Tucker’s Fieldhouse with tanning, coffee, and brunch. Tedder Equipment, which will be across from the K-Kountry 95 and the Gift Radio Stations, and CPI, owned by Larry Burns building a new building between the Assembly of God Church and O’Reilys. Then Mayor Donna Martin gave us an update on the Jordan’s project. She spoke about getting more funding from grants to complete the project, and spoke about ideas and plans for an entrance to Jordan’s off and onto Highway 63 and 19. Several other people spoke, and we will have more on the meeting throughout the week here at ECNN
