
On Monday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Ava Police Department, and COMET Drug Task Force conducted a covert narcotics investigation that resulted in the arrest of two Douglas County residents. As a result of the investigation, a traffic stop resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine and two residential search warrants were served, resulting in methamphetamine and paraphernalia being seized.
57 year old Michael W. Johnson, of Ava, was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of Controlled substances-methamphetamine. Johnson was currently on Parole and had just been released from the Department of Corrections on July 30, 2025, just 5 days before his arrest. Johnson is a habitual offender with 24 criminal arrests. No Bond was set in this case.
36 year old Andrew Huffman, of Ava, was arrested and charged with possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine, and driving while revoked. Bond was set at $1500 cash only.
