The Kansas City Chiefs took the field for the 16th practice of training camp on Tuesday morning as the three-time defending AFC champions continued their preparation for the upcoming season.

In terms of what took place, the Chiefs logged multiple 11-on-11 periods, a 7-on-7 segment and a series of 1-on-1 drills throughout Tuesday’s practice. Notably, the defense as a whole was the standout from the session, particularly during an 11-on-11 red zone period in which the defense won the majority of the snaps.

Offensively, wide receiver Hal Presley stood out with multiple catches during 7-on-7 drills.

The Chiefs, who placed two players on injured reserve this week filled a vacant roster spot on Tuesday by signing running back Michael Wiley.

The 24-year-old Wiley, who spent last season on the Washington Commanders’ practice squad, rushed for 1,712 yards and 16 touchdowns in 49 games (24 starts) at the University of Arizona from 2019-23. He was also an accomplished pass-catcher during that time, tallying 123 catches for 1,150 yards and 12 scores.

The Chiefs were without wide receiver Hollywood Brown (ankle), tight end Jake Briningstool (hamstring), cornerback Jaylen Watson (concussion protocol) and offensive tackle Ethan Driskell (recovering from an appendectomy) due to injury on Tuesday.

The Chiefs second preseason game is set for Friday night in Seattle, Kickoff is at 9 pm, pregame at 8 pm on K-Kountry 95.
