A Douglas County Grand Jury has indicted 44-year-old Robert Smith of Norwood on several felony stealing charges. The indictment includes three counts of stealing more than $25,000 and three counts of stealing $750 or more. Authorities say the Smith worked as a contractor, collecting more than $800,000 but failing to purchase materials or complete construction projects as agreed. Investigators report there are six victims in Douglas County connected to the case. Bond was set at $50,000 cash only. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation was led by a county detective.
