65-year-old Wayne Shockey entered a plea to two counts of second-degree child molestation. He was originally charged with attempted statutory sodomy with deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years old, first-degree attempted statutory rape, and sexual exploitation of a minor child in Laclede County. Under an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but concedes that evidence is likely to result in a conviction. Shockey could be sentenced to up to 10 years in the Department of Corrections on each charge.
