On Friday, 59-year-old Charles Summers, of Mountain View, Arkansas, was arrested on a warrant out of the Izard County Circuit Court for felony Theft of Property.
In May 2024, the Calico Rock City Council approved a bid from an electric business owned by Summers for the purchase of generators and other electrical components and services. At Summers’ request, the City of Calico Rock issued a check in the amount of $87,500 to secure the order for the equipment.
Following payment, some fifteen months ago, Summers failed to provide the generators, equipment, or related services. The City of Calico Rock made multiple attempts to obtain proof of the equipment order or a refund from Summers. When these attempts were unsuccessful, a report was filed with the Sheriff’s Office.
