The National Pork Board has named David Newman as its new CEO. Newman most recently served as the organization’s vice president of market growth.
Gordon Spronk, a Minnesota pig farmer, swine veterinarian, and president of NPB says Newman is leadership-oriented, producer-focused, and outcomes-driven when it comes to the pork industry.
Newman, along with his family, owns and operates Newman Family Farms based in Myrtle, Missouri. He’s a former member of the organization’s board of directors and served as president in 2020 and 2021. He has also served as a member of the U.S. Meat Export Federation’s executive committee. Newman holds a doctorate in meat and animal science from North Dakota State University and has served as a faculty member at both NDSU and Arkansas State University.
