According to the Police Report, around 2 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to 414 N Ferguson, Willow Springs, in reference a well-being check on three children ages 4-10 years old. Complainant advised that her boyfriend was out of control and had assaulted her and her 18-year-old son earlier in the day. He then began spanking the three children while she was on the phone with the police. Willow Springs Police and a Howell County deputy made contact with the male subject at the residence. He refused to allow them to check on the children; however later allowed officers to check them at the front door. Based on the previous assaults, the male subject was advised that he was under arrest for Domestic Assault. He then slammed the door on the officers and barricaded himself in a bedroom with the children. The male subject made several Suicidal threats, and it was unclear if he was armed.
Howell County S.W.A.T team was called, while negotiations continued with the subject. At 5:46 am the male subject released the children and surrendered to Howell County Deputies without incident. He was taken to Howell County Jail pending formal charges. No names have been released.
