
Sunday morning, the Douglas/Ava Mult-jurisdictional Task Force served a narcotics search warrant on BB Highway in western Douglas County. Arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold were Derrell Highfill and Keita Highfill
Law Enforcement seized methamphetamine and numerous firearms.
Warrants were applied for by Sheriff Degase for the partners in crime.
A warrant was issued for 68-year-old Derrell Highfill, for Possession of methamphetamine, 5 counts of unlawful possession of a weapon for possessing firearms and controlled substances, and since Derrell was a CONVICTED felon, he was charged with 5 counts of Felon in possession of a firearm. Derrell has an extensive criminal history, so bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
A warrant was issued for 60-year-old Keita Highfill for Possession of a methamphetamine and 5 counts of unlawful use of a weapon for possessing firearms and controlled substances. Keita’s bond was set at $10,000 cash only.
