Authorities stress that the calls are not legitimate and advise residents not to answer them or provide any information. The sheriff’s office reminds the public that legitimate prize organizations do not contact winners through unsolicited video calls or request sensitive information in this way. Anyone who receives a similar call or believes they may have shared information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
