Several members of West Plains Fire & Rescue were recognized at the Missouri State Capitol on Tuesday for their life-saving efforts during the 2025 flood. Fire and rescue personnel were invited to Jefferson City for the State of the State Address, where Mike Kehoe honored members of the Region G Water Rescue Team for multiple rescues performed across the county during the flood response. Officials say the team was ready to respond at a moment’s notice as floodwaters impacted the region. Those recognized included Chris Brockelbank (Missouri National Guard and former West Plains Fire & Rescue member), Bud McMillen, Corbin Thompson, Jeremiah Jones, and Drew Findley. West Plains Fire & Rescue also thanked all department personnel and assisting agencies for their continued readiness and service to the community.
