A Houston, Missouri man has been charged with child abuse and domestic assault following an investigation by local authorities. Forty-one-year-old Anthony D. Bigby Jr. of the 100 block of Sugar Maple Drive is charged with child abuse, not sexual, and second-degree domestic assault, both Class D felonies. Bond has been set at $10,000 cash or surety. According to investigators, a 6-year-old girl was interviewed this week by school officials, a Houston Police Department resource officer, and later by the Child Advocacy Center. Authorities say they became concerned after discovering the child had injuries to her mouth. Bigby reportedly told officers the injuries were caused by a slap and denied allegations that the child had been kicked in the face. He is currently being held in the Texas County Jail as the case moves forward.
