The Thayer Bobcats used a massive first inning to take control early and never looked back Monday, cruising past Cabool 19-4.
Thayer erupted for 16 runs in the opening frame, turning patience at the plate and timely hitting into a runaway win.
Owen Morris earned the win for Thayer, allowing one hit and two runs, only one earned, over two innings while striking out three and walking three. Corbin Taylor worked in relief.

The Thayer Lady Bobcats delivered a strong all-around performance Monday, defeating Mountain Grove 8-1 in a key South Central Association (SCA) matchup.
McKenzie Morris led the way for Thayer, going 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, double, and single. She also earned the win in the circle, tossing a complete game while allowing just one unearned run on five hits. Morris struck out eight and did not issue a walk.
