The Council began by accepting the certified election results. The mayor then swore in the newly elected officials, including Alderman Mark Bryant and Alderwoman Janice Tolar.
The council then hired Nicole Tillman as City Clerk. They also approved Brent Collins’ appointment as City Administrator. The Mayor then swore them in.
The mayor also swore in Justin Nelson as City Attorney, and Matt Martin as Fire Chief and EMA Director.
Steven Clrak was appointed Mayor Pro-Temp, Janice Tolar was appointed treasurer, and Aldermen Bryant and Schultz were appointed to the Oregon County Recycling Board. The Mayor then read a commendation for Sergeant Ethan Dewitt, SRO Steven Bryant, Dustin Madden, and Fire Chief Matt Martin for their actions at the fire on March 31st at the apartments behind McDonalds.
Several certificates were also presented to others who helped at the fire.
The City Council also approved the City Administrator to sell Jordan’s Travel Center a liquor license once their state application is approved.
The City Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month at City Hall
