
On April 14, 2026, 56-year-old Lloyd Yost, of Ava, was arrested following a traffic stop in Ava.
Yost is a repeat offender and a known user/distributor of methamphetamine. K-9 York was deployed on the vehicle, and he alerted on the vehicle, indicating the presence of illegal narcotics. During a search of the vehicle, an orange and black magnetic box was located on the vehicle containing a glass pipe containing a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Yost admitted he would fail a drug test and admitted he used methamphetamine the day prior.
A warrant was issued for Possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, prior drug offense, and failure to equip a motor vehicle with approved red tail lamps. Bond was set at $5000 cash only.
