Threat made at Plato School

Authorities in Texas County investigated a threat allegedly made to the Plato School District. The threat was received on Wednesday evening. The Texas County Sheriff’s Department had an increased presence at the school on Thursday and the District stated on social media.

Throughout the evening, school officials worked closely with law enforcement to thoroughly assess the situation that we made the community aware of last night.

At this time, we have no indication of an active or immediate threat to our campus. The matter was promptly turned over to the appropriate authorities, who responded quickly and had the situation under control. We are very thankful for their professionalism and support in the matter.

Based on the information available and in coordination with law enforcement, we felt confident in safely holding school today. While we may not be able to share all details due to the ongoing investigation, we are committed to keeping you informed as appropriate. As always, we will continue to remain vigilant, follow our safety protocols, and maintain close communication with authorities.
