
Details have now been released about a high speed pursuit through multiple counties that included a police vehicle being hit and shot being fired. According to reports the pursuit started in Batesville when 21 year old D.E White of Cave City fled from officers with pursuit going through Independence County and into Izard County, reaching speeds in excess of 90 mph. Izard County authorities set up a road block, but white drove towards the patrol unit at a high rate of speed. The deputy had exited his vehicle and allegedly fired three rounds at the vehicle which swerved and continued on. Deputies caught up to the vehicle and pulled in front of it getting it to stop, but four people in the vehicle then fled on foot. White and the three other occupants, Trevor Woodham, Tiara Trammell and Britanie Sotherland of Batesville. All four were caught, White faces felony charges of aggravated assault, first degree criminal mischief, fleeing and requirements in accidents involving death or personal injuries along with misdemeanor counts of fleeing, no insurance, no driver’s license, and no seat belt. His bond is set at $30,000. Sotherland is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor fleeing. Her bond was set at $5,000
