On Monday the Howell County Commission approved the annual county opderating budget for 2019 with the total budgeted operating funds at just over $14 million. Presiding Commissioner Mark Collins said “the county remains in good strong financial condition with solid revenues to support the growing need of a growing county”. Collins referred to the latest addition to the revenue stream the collection of the use tax that voters approved last April. Howell County began collecting the revenue in November and according to Collins “it appears that all four funds receiving the sales tax will receive an additional $40,000 a month and that is reflected in the 2019 budget”
