North Arkansas Electric Cooperative employees received the Million Work Hours Safety Award from representatives of the Arkansas Department of Labor and Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission at the co-op’s Salem headquarters March 4. Employees accumulated one million work hours without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness between August 19, 2014, and December 30, 2018.
The Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission present the award to Arkansas companies who excel in on-the-job safety. NAEC is the fourth business to receive the million-hour award during the 2018-2019 fiscal year and the 498th to receive the million-hour award since its establishment in 1976
