An Independence County man is being held on $1 Million bond for aggravated residential burglary, theft and rape. 30 year old Michael Shane Midkoff allegedly entered a home wearing a mask and hood and force a female occupant to accompany him through the house as he took several items. She was also forced to perform a sex act which was interrupted by a witness. He then fled the scene but left a glove which was checked for DNA along with the victim. The DNA analysis returned from the Arkansas Crime lab Identified Midkoff. He was interviewed and allegedly admitted to the crime. Midkoff has been previously convicted of four or more felonies so he will be tried as an habitual offender.
