On Monday the West Plains City Council approved an ordinance that will allow the West Plains Police to stop motorist that are failing to wear their seat belts and other occupancy restraints without seeing other traffic violations. The vote on the ordinance was unanimous to amend the traffic and vehicles chapter of the code of ordinances, dealing with section 44-95, seatbelts and child restraint devices.
