Since June 2nd 2019, the West Plains Police Department has responded to twelve calls for service for stolen vehicles with eight incident reports being filed. The vehicles were stolen from various places throughout West Plains and at various times of the day and night.
Through investigations and help from the community, four of the vehicles formally reported stolen have been recovered along with criminal charges being sought against the suspect(s). Four of the cases remain under active investigation.
The West Plains Police Department is asking the citizens of West Plains for their help in solving these cases. The Police Department would also like to stress the importance of the preventable nature of these crimes. Hide your things, lock your car, take your keys.
