A woman from Batesville has been sentenced after amending her plea. Vickie Chisam, who worked for Preferred Healthcare was originally charged with Medicaid Fraud, but her plea was amended to conspiracy to commit theft of property. According to the plea agreement reached Monday Chisam billed over 4,500 illegal claims to the Arkansas Medicaid Program for more than $580,000. Chisam was sentenced to 3 years suspended sentence for her cooperation with state and federal authorities. She also must pay a $1,000 fine.
