The Howell County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a Mansfield teen on rape charges. 19 year old Eddie Barnett was arrested and charged with statutory rape involving someone less than 14 years old. Barnett had allegedly been talking to the girl on snapchat for a while. According to reports he made advances on the girl, which she said that she rejected. Barnett allegedly forced himself on her, sexually assaulting her. Barnett will be in court at a later date.
