Wednesday an open meeting was held at Thayer city hall to discuss the intersection of highway 63 and 19 at the caution light. A MODOT representative, Mike Wake was on hand to hear from concerned citizens. With a little over 20 in attendance, they heard stories of accidents at the intersection and concerns from residents. One area resident talked about the concern with school buses traveling through the intersection
Another thought that a better solution would be wider roads
Mr wake was asked if the number of accidents at the intersection plays into weather or not they get a traffic light
I talked to City Councilman Steven Clark about the purpose of the meeting
Mr Clark said that they will continue to pursue a solution to the problem.
