A trial date has been set for the man accused of shooting two police officers in Carter County last week. 31 year old James Cummings of Van Buren will be in court August 26th at 8:30 a.m. for a bond appearance. His criminal setting is at 9 a.m. September 10th. Cummings is charged with 4 counts of first degree assault and 4 counts of armed criminal action. Cummings is being held in Butler County Jail and te court has denied bond.
