A Van Buren man accused of shooting two officers in August has his preliminary hearing date set. 31 year old James Cummings will be back in court October 8th for a preliminary hearing. Cummings allegedly shot Carter County Deputy Brigg Pierson and MSHP Trooper Caleb McCoy on August 12th. Cummings faces 4 counts of first degree assault and 4 counts of armed criminal action.
