A man from Ava was injured in an accident east of Ava Tuesday morning. The Highway Patrol reports that 36 year old Robert Mitchell hit a deer in the roadway, then traveled off the roadway. Mitchell suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Cox South in Springfield. The accident happened on highway 76 about 15 miles east of Ava, around 3:30 Tuesday morning.
