On Monday, September 16, 2019, West Plains Officers responded to the West View Nursing Home located at 210 Davis Drive, reference an incident. Officers contacted a sixty-eight-year-old resident of the nursing home who indicated she had been sexually assaulted by a male nurse on August 30, 2019 and again on September 7, 2019.
45 year old Steven James Stroman, LPN (licensed practical nurse), was identified as the individual who had the sexual relations with the victim. Stroman agreed to discuss the matter with Investigators and later implicated himself in the inappropriate sexual contact with the victim.
On September 19, 2019, Stroman was arrested at his residence by West Plains Police Officers on two counts of “Sexual Conduct with a Nursing Facility Resident” with a bond of $10,000.
Stroman was released to the custody of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
