A man from Bucyrus is being held after he allegedly called Texas County 911 on Monday and told them that a student at the Houston School had placed a bomb in a locker. The student was interviewed and cleared by authorities. The caller was identified as 35 year old Samuel Wayne Thomas of Bucyrus. Then authorities discovered what appeared to be a bomb in the bed of the pickup of the person falsely accused. The device was described as two metal pipes with electric tape, a watch face and battery compartment with wiring. It contained black powder with pellets . Missouri Highway patrol experts are assessing the device. Thomas was arrested back in January for statutory rape and is now charged with felony counts of making a terrorist threat, unlawful possession of an explosive weapon and armed criminal action, and misdemeanor misusing 911. Thomas is being held without bond.
