It was not the opening day the St. Louis Cardinals were hoping for yesterday from their ace Carlos Martinez. The Cardinals lost to the New York Mets at Citifield 9-4, and Martinez was not very sharp. Matinez just lasted 4 and a 3rd innings and gave up 5 runs, walking 6. Yadier Molina and Jose Martinez both homered for the Cardinals in the loss. After an off day today, the Cards will resume their series in New York on Saturday
