A TOTAL OF 1,288 ITEMS were collected by members of the Student Government Association (SGA), Student Nurses Association (SNA) and Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) student business organization at Missouri State University-West Plains during their food drive for Samaritan Outreach Center, the local homeless shelter. Among the goods collected were ramen noodles and canned soups, vegetables and fruits, along with such supplies as plates, napkins, gloves and paper towel, organizers said. The food drive at the Oct. 30 Grizzly Volleyball game also garnered $80 in monetary donations from generous community members, organizers added. “The SGA is looking forward to continuing to support a community that gives so much to us and our campus,” SGA President Olivia Grandberry said. “Last year, we had about 800 items. We are hoping to continue this collaboration among student organizations to better both our campus and our community for years to come.” With the items above are, from left, SGA Historian Gabe Ivins, Willow Springs; Publicist Braylin Shelton, Salem; Treasurer Jayden Wiley, West Plains; Vice President Jamal Shaddid, St. Louis; Grandberry, St. Robert; and Chief of Staff Kaylee Liley, Berryville, Ark.
