NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – Isaiah Joe scored 21 points, Mason Jones added 20 and Arkansas beat Valparaiso 72-68 in the first meeting between the teams.
It was the Razorbacks’ annual trip to North Little Rock. They improved their record to 12-9 over the last 21 visits.
Adrio Bailey and Jimmy Whitt Jr. added 10 points each for Arkansas (10-1). Javon Freeman-Liberty led Valparaiso (7-6) with 21 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.
St. LOUIS (AP) — A Chicago native, Missouri Tigers guard Xavier Pinson heard an earful from the Illinois Fighting Illini’s fans during the 39th Annual Braggin’ Rights game on Saturday. Dru Smith scored 19 points, Javon Pickett added 17 off the bench, and Missouri beat Illinois 63-56.
TULSA, Okla. – In a tale of two halves, Oral Roberts got the hot hand late and scored 51 points in the second period to erase Missouri State’s four-point halftime lead and rolled down the stretch to an 82-72 win over the Bears here Saturday in the non-conference finale for MSU.
Arkansas State beat ULM Saturday 62,59. Transfer guard Melo Eggleston scored a game-high 14 points off the bench. Eggleston, appearing in just his second game due to NCAA transfer rules, led A-State (9-3, 2-0 SBC) with 14 points and eight rebounds in 19 minutes of action. Canberk Kus and Jerry Johnson added 13 points each while J.J. Matthews added nine points.
