The West Plains Police Department will be getting new radios and uniforms. At the last West Plains City Council meeting, Police Chief Steven Monticello spoke to the council about getting new radios and uniforms. City Financial Director Todd Harmon told the council that bundling the lease agreement for the radios with the service agreement would save the city about 45 percent now with available discounts. The lease agreement and service agreement would cost around $68,000 a year for 10 years. If the equipment was bought outright it would cost around $340,000 and $25,000 a year for the service agreement. The New uniforms will cost between $11,500 and $12,000 and will include winter uniforms.
