The West Plains Zizzer boys won a thriller in the first round of the Bolivar Tournament Thursday night beating Branson 51-48 to improve to 8-7 on the season. Allen Marcak (Mar-Chalk) led the Zizzers with 11 points. Zizzers will play Bolivar at 7pm Friday night in Winners bracket semi-final play. Will have the game on “The Train”.
The Mammoth Spring Bears and lady Bears were at Hillcrest Thursday and split a pair of games with the Bears losing to Hillcrest 51-48. Alex Mero led MS with 17 points, Zach Flynn added 13. The Lady Bears beat Hillcrest 43-39, Terra Godwin led te Lady Bears with 25 points, Lauren Mitchell added 10. The Bears are now 17-and-11 on the season and 7-and-3 in the conference, the Lady Bears are 19-and-6 and 7-and-0 in the conference.
The Alton Comets advance to the championship game of the Big Springs Conference Tournament with a win last night against Ellington 68-39. Comets play at 6 pm Saturday in the Championship.
The Alton Lady Comets will play for third place in the Tournament after losing last night to Eminence 67-57. The Lady Comets play at 12:15 Saturday
