The Mammoth Spring School District has a new program that they are excited to announce. In late February students started to join the team, The Bear Rockets, and start their spring season with the team. The school has initially started with “Rocket League” and plan to expand further into these games as the next few years progress. In the game, players are put into two different teams and pitted against each other in a futuristic arena to duke it out.

Crystal Martin, Coach of the Esports team, says “she is glad that this form of technology has made it to the school and is excited to give those students who do not want to play other sports the opportunity to show their skills in a different form”

There are six students that are part of The Bear Rockets, and are looking to expand the program tremendously before next season. Mammoth Spring opened their spring season with Bryant, the Fall 2019 state champions. If you reach the postseason students will enter a “playoff week”, and if students advance, they will play in a state championship game in Hot Springs.

The Bears next match is Thursday, their opponent will be announced at a later date.
