Gov. Mike Parson has closed all Missouri public and charter schools for the rest of the academic year. Schooling will continue online. The stay-at-home order allows food, nutrition and childcare programs to continue to operate. Parson says this decision does not come lightly, as his granddaughter is part of the senior class who will not get a commencement ceremony. Parson made a promise to every graduating senior in the state.
Parson says schools should continue until their previously set last day on their academic calendar.
