A woman from Alton suffered serious injuries in an accident Friday morning east of Alton. The Highway Patrol says that 55 year old Sandra McCasland was injured when she failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the road and struck a tree. McCasland was flown to Cox South in Springfield, The accident happened on U.S. 160 about 6 miles east of Alton.
