Two People Are In Custody After A Shooting In Mountain Home

Two people are now in custody in connection with the shooting Thursday night at a park in Mountain Home. 18 year old Eric Pederson was shot in the leg. According to police there was about 10 people that gathered for a fight and at some point a 16 year old Jonesboro boy brandished a handgun and Pederson attempted to take it from him and during the struggle he was shot. The handgun was reported stolen from a house on Gregg Road. The 16 year old ran into the nearby woods and was arrested a short time later at a nearby subdivision. The 16 year old was charged with first degree battery, aggravated assault, residential burglary and theft of property. A 16 year old girl also entered the house and took a bottle of morphine pills. She is charged with residential burglary, and possession of a controlled substance. The two teens were turned over to juvenile authorities.
