There was another structure fire in Birch Tree this weekend. The fire was the second fire in the last month and fifth this year in the small town. The fire happened Easter morning, in a house that was empty. Earlier this month there was a house fire just few blocks away from this one, where a 77-year-old woman was found in the house. The state fire marshal is investigating both fires. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office The State is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone in connection with the recent fires. The Town has raised an additional $1,500.
