The Izard County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of two people for drug trafficking. 45 year old Robert Carpenter of Saffell and 29 year old Amber Taylor of Viola were stopped in Pinevill and a drug dog was deployed. Officers found over $5,000 cash and almost a ½ pound of meth. They are both charged with trafficking a controlled substance meth, more than 200 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze meth. Carpenter is a habitual offender. His bond was set at $50,000 cash only. Taylor’s bond was set at $25,000. Both are on probation and are on a hold from the Arkansas Department of Corrections. A follow up investigation at the residence of Carpenter resulting in more meth being found with a value of over $99,000.
