
A Randolph County man will spend the next two decades in prison after pleading guilty to four counts of distributing, possession, viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child. Eric McQuay of Pocahontas appeared in court Thursday and pleaded guilty to the charge due to a negotiated plea agreement between his attorneys and prosecutors. McQuay was arrested after an investigation by the Jonesboro Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in early 2017. Authorities found out that McQuay, who was charged with four counts of distributing, possessing, viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, shared child pornography via a peer-to-peer network as part of the investigation, As part of the agreement, McQuay received a 10-year prison sentence on the first two counts and a 10-year suspended sentence on the other two counts. McQuay will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay all court costs and fees.
