A former Mountain Home Roofing contractor was in court Thursday to face charges for allegedly taking money to do jobs and never doing the work. 31-year-old John Downing faces charges in three criminal cases. According to his attorney Downing has paid $5,000 toward about $8,700 in restitution to the victims. Downing has been missed several court appearances because he was said to be having testing for COVID 19 done. Downing was booked Wednesday night and was denied bond Thursday when the Judge allegedly said he did not think he could depend on Downing to show up for court.
