More Than 9,000 Items Collected For Hunger Hero By Area Schools

Today is the final day for the Hunger hero, caring about neighbors and recently the local school wrapped their drives to collect items for Hunger Hero. It was another good year as we get the final numbers today. The Thayer Elementary collected the most items with 3,579, winning classes were Jerome’s 5th grade 649 and Hufstedler’s first grade 623. Mammoth Spring School collected 3,164 items with the wining classes being McKenzie’s 500 Elementary and Colins 400 high school. Alton collected 1,500 items with the winning classes being Snyder’s 5th grade 665 and Beta Club 400. Couch school collected 615 items; the wining class was Smith’s 3rd grade 240. Koshkonong collected 200 with the winning class being Howell’s 6th grade 71. A little over 9,000 items were collected by the area schools for the food pantries in Thayer, Mammoth Spring and Alton. Thayer Pizza Inn will provide Pizza Parties for the Winning classes in earlier January.
