A Cave City man was one of two people arrested after a vehicle fled from police in Independence County. According to reports an officer attempted to stop a pickup in the Cave Creek area, when the suspects fled. Deputies deployed spike strips and deflated three of the tires on the pickup, the officers then used a pit maneuver to end the chase. 39-year-old Jason Richard Malin of Cave City was a passenger in the pickup driven by 47-year-old Tammy Odell of Floral. Both Malin and Floral were arrested and a search of the pickup uncovered a crystalline substance in Odell’s purse, A set of digital scales were also found. Malin and Odell both face 2 felony and several misdemeanor charges. Both were taken to Independence County Jail
